Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Raising Intentionally (the "Site") is a Montessori-inspired baby development resource and family care-tracking app operated by Cedarkeep LLC, owned by Kristen ("we," "us," "our"), based in North Carolina, USA. It includes the marketing pages and blog at raisingintentionally.com, the member portal at app.raisingintentionally.com, and our mobile app. The portal and app let parents, expectant parents, and caregivers follow a development plan, track a pregnancy and its due date, browse a toy guide, track milestones, and keep a private daily log of their child's care, such as feedings, diaper changes, and sleep.

2. Scope

This policy explains what personal information we collect from visitors and registered account holders, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or creating an account, you agree to this policy.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us:

• Your email address (required to create an account or subscribe to the newsletter).
• Your password, stored only as a salted scrypt hash. We never see or store your plain password.
• A display name. You can change this at any time; the default is derived from the local part of your email.
• Family and household details. The name you give your family or household, and the email addresses of any co-parents or caregivers you invite to share access. Anyone you invite receives an email from us with your invitation.
• Child and family member profiles. For each child or other family member you add: a name or nickname, whether they are a child, toddler, adult, or elder, and either a date of birth or, for an expected baby, a due date.
• Pregnancy details. For an expected baby, the due date you enter, which the app uses to show your progress through the pregnancy and a countdown. You can edit or remove this at any time. Due dates are estimates you provide, not medical records, and we do not collect clinical pregnancy data.
• Daily care log. The care events you choose to record for a child, including feedings (such as nursing or pumping sessions and amounts), diaper changes, and sleep, along with the date and time each event started and, for timed events, ended, plus any notes or details you add. You organize these under calendars you name for each child.
• Reminders. Any reminder schedules you set for a child, so the app can prompt you for the next feeding, diaper change, or other event.
• Development and toys. Milestones you mark as reached and the date you mark them, any custom milestones or toys you add (including any Amazon or other product link you attach to a custom toy), and the toys you mark as owned or hidden.
• Messages you send through the contact form.

Information collected automatically:

• Your IP address and browser user agent at the moment of newsletter consent or account creation, for spam prevention and proof of opt-in.
• Basic request logs from our hosting provider (Cloudflare).
• A theme preference cookie (light or dark) stored on your device.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or browser fingerprinting tools.

Health-related information. Some of what you log, such as feeding, sleep, and diapering, is health-related information about your child. We treat it as private and sensitive. We use it only to provide the app's features to you and the caregivers you invite. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it for any purpose unrelated to running the service. We are not a healthcare provider, and this information is not a medical record.

4. How we use your information

• To deliver the resources you ask for, including the newsletter, password reset emails, and email verification.
• To let you sign in to and use the portal and app.
• To provide the development plan, pregnancy tracking, milestone tracking, toy guide, and daily care log, and to show you the history and summaries you record.
• To calculate and send the reminders and notifications you set up. On mobile, these are scheduled as local notifications on your own device, using the notification permission you grant. We do not operate a remote push service and do not collect a device push token; if you decline or turn off notification permission, the app simply does not schedule them.
• To let the caregivers you invite to your family share access to the same child profiles and logs.
• To protect the Site from spam and abuse, using Cloudflare Turnstile and rate limiting.
• To respond to inquiries you send us.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

5. Email

If you opt in to the newsletter, we will email you about new posts and related content. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. We use Resend as our email delivery provider; your address passes through their systems only to deliver mail.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

On the website and web portal, we use only first-party cookies that are necessary for the Site to function, including session, anti-CSRF, and theme preference cookies. We do not use cookies for cross-site tracking or advertising.

Our mobile app does not use cookies. Instead, it keeps you signed in by storing your session token in your device's secure storage, and it stores your theme preference locally on the device.

7. Service providers

We share limited information with vendors who help us run the Site:

• Cloudflare, for website and app hosting, content delivery, and anti-bot challenges.
• Neon, for our managed PostgreSQL database, where your account, family, child profiles, and daily log data are stored.
• Resend, for transactional and newsletter email delivery.

These vendors are contractually limited to processing data on our behalf.

8. Affiliate links (Amazon Associates)

The toy guide and some other pages contain affiliate links, including links to Amazon. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program and may earn a commission when you buy something through one of these links, at no additional cost to you. Our recommendations are chosen on their merits and are not influenced by these commissions.

When you tap an affiliate link, you leave our app or site and go to Amazon (or the relevant retailer). The link carries only an affiliate tag that identifies us, not you, and we do not share your account, family, child, or log data with Amazon. Once you are on Amazon, that retailer collects and uses information about you under its own privacy policy and cookie practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to review Amazon's privacy notice before shopping.

9. Children's privacy

The Site and app are intended for parents, expectant parents, and caregivers who are at least 18 years old, and accounts may only be created by adults. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

The child profiles and care logs in the app describe your child, but you, the adult account holder, provide that information. It is stored under your family's account and is visible only to you and the caregivers you invite. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or identities for children, and we do not sell or share it. You can edit or delete any child's profile and log entries at any time in the app, and if you ask us to close your account, this information is removed as described below. If you believe a child has created an account or provided us personal information directly, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Your choices and rights

• You can view and update your account details, and view, update, or delete your family and child profiles and daily log entries, inside the app or portal at any time.
• You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
• To delete your entire account, contact us through the app or the contact form on our website to request deletion. We will remove your account data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as proof of newsletter consent for as long as you remain subscribed).

If you are a resident of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with applicable privacy laws (such as the CCPA, GDPR, or UK GDPR), you may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, the right to correct or delete it, and the right to opt out of "sales" of your information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us through the contact form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

11. Data retention

We keep account information for as long as you maintain an account. This includes your family, child profiles, and daily log entries, which remain available to you until you delete them or ask us to close your account. When you request account closure, we delete this information within 30 days, except for limited records we are required to keep by law. Newsletter subscription records are kept while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward to honor your unsubscribe request. Anti-spam metadata such as the IP address you used at signup is kept for up to twelve months.

12. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including hashed passwords (scrypt), HTTPS encryption in transit, request-origin and CSRF checks, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

13. International users

We operate from the United States, and the Site is hosted on globally distributed infrastructure. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries.

14. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date above and, for account holders, notify you by email or in-portal notice. Continued use of the Site after the change means you accept the updated policy.
